1:1 Technology for 6th graders
The Ankeny Schools Technology Task Force has been working to develop a vision and plan for the use of 21st century technology in our district called 1:1 Technology.  One of the action steps that emerged from their work is a plan to deploy Chromebooks to all Ankeny sixth graders.  We have scheduled parent meetings on Tuesday, August 19th, at 9:30 am in our Performance Center or at 5:15pm in our main gym.  These meeting are to help explain the program and answer any question that you might have.  We will be sending home more information with your child the first week of school or you can click here for a copy of forms.   Please sign and return the forms to your advisory teacher or to the office.  All forms need to be turned in by August 25th.

Chromebooks are essentially laptops that use Google’s Chrome web browser as a vehicle to access Internet-based services. Chromebooks primarily use Google Applications (Apps),  in addition to providing access to any available web-based resource or website.  Currently our District uses Google Apps for Education, and each student and staff member has the capability of having a district-issued Google account.

Interested in Volunteering?
Are you interested in volunteering at Parkview?  We have opportunities for you to help at our school!   Volunteers help us during Book Fairs, on school picture days, at our Student Socials, and in the media center.  In order to volunteer in the Ankeny Schools you will need to fill out a "Volunteer Information" sheet every year as well as a background check every 5 years. Please contact Darla Harbert at darla.harbert@ankenyschools.org or call the office at 965-9640 for more information.
Picture Retakes

Sept. 11th Lifetouch will be returning to Parkview for any students who did not get their pictures taken during our Schedule Pickup days as well as the students who had theirs taken but would like to have them retaken.  We are looking for parent volunteers to help us from 8:25 – approximately 11:00 that morning distributing the cards out and making sure all students have been photographed.  If you are interested in helping us, please contact Darla Harbert at 965-9640.

Parkview Students Engaging in 21st Century Skills
Feedback on the degree to which each student is performaning in the classroom related to critical 21st Century Skills will be provided to parents by their children prior to each round of parent-teacher conferences, and by teachers prior to the end of each semester through US postal service.  Click here for a sample of the 21st Century Skills template with skill benchmarks and skill indicators.
